Transfer Accuracy of Two 3D Printed Trays for Indirect Bracket Bonding—An In Vitro Pilot Study

The present study aimed to investigate the impact of hardness from 3D printed transfer trays and dental crowding on bracket bonding accuracy. Lower models (no group: Little’s Irregularity Index (LII) < 3, LII > 7, n = 10 per group) were selected at random, digitized, printed, utilized for semiautomated virtual positioning brackets tubes. Hard soft fabricated with polyjet printing digital light processing, respectively. Brackets tubes transferred altogether digitized using intraoral scanning (IOS) microcomputed tomography (micro-CT) assessment linear angular deviations. Mean intra- interrater reliability amounted 0.67 ± 0.34/0.79 0.16 IOS, 0.92 0.05/0.92 0.5 micro-CT measurements. Minor discrepancies observed (median: 0.11 mm, Q1–Q3: −0.06–0.28 mm). Deviations in torque 2.49°, 1.27–4.03°) greater than ones 1.81°, 1.05°–2.90°), higher hard 1.32–3.91°) compared 1.77°, 0.94–3.01°) (p 0.001), errors more pronounced crowded front teeth 0.05). In conclusion, clinician should carefully consider potential accuracy, specifically orientation.
